九州の食は、どこへ向かうのか？

熊本の酪農業者は、国内での牛乳の消費量が落ち込んだので２００７年から香港へ「新鮮で安心・安全」という売り込みで輸出を始め、２００８年に台湾、そして２００９年に上海へと輸出先を拡大している。中国で有害物質が牛乳に混在している事件が発生後、注文が殺到したようで熊本の牛乳は「安全」だと認識されている。

そしてJA熊本市は世界初の生傷センサーを導入し、ミカンの品質向上を目指している。

熊本の県産牛「あか牛」を首都圏の消費者に知ってもらおうとしているニュースを見たけれど、熊本の酪農業者が中華圏へ目を向けたように、中華圏へアピールするのが長期的に見てより効果的な気がした。

中華圏に近い九州が「安心、安全、高品質な農産物」を生み出す場所として特化していくのも合理的だと思う。
