" 'Higher tariff needed' for solar panel projects to make money" from South China Morning Post

"The low power tariffs offered recently by mainland developers of solar power projects are loss-making and unsustainable, according to Trony Solar Holdings, a panel maker based in Longgang, Shenzhen.

The company is the world's fourth-largest thin-film solar panel maker, making 90 per cent of its revenues from the "off-power-grid" market. Trony will not get involved in developing solar farms unless it can earn a sufficient profit margin, said chairman Li Yi during a media plant visit."

"Beijing wants the nation to have 20,000MW of solar power generation capacity by 2020.
