拡大する地下鉄建設

地下鉄建設が新興国を中心に拡大している。新興国が成長し、人々が溢れる都市に交通機関が必要となり地下鉄が新たな交通システムとして採用されている。中国、ペルー、中東など世界の至る所で地下鉄が出来ている。また政府が景気刺激策に鉄道インフラにお金を注いでいることも地下鉄建設が進んでいる一因。都市での交通トラフィックが増大していく。

"Protest over subway noise" from South China Morning Post

"More than 100 residents in Daxing district protested near their estate on Saturday morning over noise from an adjacent subway station, The Beijing News reports. The residents said shocks from the subway line were so intense that they had caused some buildings to crack and their exterior surfaces to peel."

"Beijing opens 5 new metro lines"

"Five new subway lines will open today in Beijing, taking the number of lines to 14. The new lines - Fangshan, Changping, the first phase of the No 15 Line, Yizhuang and Daxing - stretch for 108 kilometres, bringing the capital's total metro rail length to 336 kilometres. The network now carries 5.02 million passengers daily."
